Satellite broadband

• The Government has touted Satellite Broadband as an option for rural communities.
• When installed, you have a dish similar in size to a Sky dish on the wall.
• Most satellite companies offer ‘up to’ 20 or 30 Mbs
• Data usage can be very limited :
• 2Gig of data download for £9.95/month (approx 1.5 hours of iPlayer!)
• Reviews state that the service can be very slow at peak hours (contention) and the time delay can make services such as Skype almost unusable.
